What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 20 Nov 2015
Question: Hi, I am 44 yo and have had two ultrasounds which show echogenic foci in the endocervical canal. I originally went because of a random shooting/stabbing pain in the left ovary area. Now, I have had two tv/ta untrasounds and they have both come back showing the exact same thing. Echogenic foci in the endocervical canal. What can this be? I had a Ct Scan of the pelvic and all abdominal area today. Awaiting results...

Brief Answer:
Can be polyp or abnormal growth.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Echogenic foci in the endocervical canal can be due to polyps or abnormal growth in the canal. This can be confirmed after further detailed investigations like PAP smear, CT scan and colposcopy.
Do get the investigations done as suggested to find out the type of growth you have.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
