EUS shows diffuse echogeicity, hyperechoic strands and hypoechoic foci in the entire pancreas.
The above features can be visualised in chronic pancreatitis.
There are other findings also which are also visualised in chronic pancreatitis on EUS and these include ductal dilatation (main pancreatic duct and side branches), calculi and duct wall echogenicity.

It is rare to find such features in more serious conditions like malignancy.
In my career, only once about 12 years back, in one patient we had initially made a diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis by CT scan but eventually it turned out to be a malignancy on surgery.
However EUS is a more accurate investigation for pancreas in recent times.
A close clinical course of the symptoms is most important.
