Brief Answer:
Its a simple cyst

Detailed Answer:
hello ,
Thanks for contacting health care magic.

Low level echoes in a cyst are cast by the cystic fluid depending on its specific gravity. the higher it is the higher the intensity of echoes.
the low level indicates that it is a simple ovarian cyst , possibly a follicular cyst. it would be nice if you can attach a picture of your ultrasound and supplement it with a brief history.

I have two cysts on left ovary measuring 2cm and 3 cm with low level echoes. No other descriptor words used other than possible endomitrioma. I don't have a past diagnosis of endometriosis. My uterus is enlarged due to fibroids which I have had for many years. I am 49 and have not gone through change but do not get my period due to tamoxifin therapy. I have not had breast cancer but it is in my family. We have tested negative for braca gene. My gym is cautious with me and makes me very anxious.
Are these cysts found concerning to you? Going back for another ultasound in one month.

Brief Answer:
Its not endometrioma but simple cysts

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the follow up.

Both the cysts are less than 4 cm and dont fit the criteria of laparoscopic removal and hence follow up with ultrasound is advised.
It is unlikely to be an endometrioma as you never had any history of pelvic pain or dysmenorrhoea which you strongly negate by saying you never had endometriosis.

With BRCA negative , the likelihood of breast cancer is also less even though family history exists. all that is required is yearly mamography and monthly self breast examination. I dont understand why tamoxifen has been started prophylactically in your case.

you have mentioned about fibroids which are usually due to estrogen excess. you havent mentioned about your earlier menstrual patterns and the nature of flow which is important and since how long you have been on tamoxifen and not getting your periods. did the periods stop before starting the therapy or later.

for the cysts, a repeat ultrasound is a justified approach considering the size and being symptomless at present.

My periods did stop as a result of Tamoxifin. I have done some reading on the Internet which can be confusing. Can a cyst with low level echoes by a simple cyst I thought it had to be complex due to the echoes.

Brief Answer:
complex cyst has thick septae, send ultrasound pic

Detailed Answer:
hello,
thanks

a complex cyst is one which has higher level echoes and there are presence of thick septae inside the cysts itself and they are more likely to be tumorous or cancerous.

if you can attach the ultrasound picture to this portal, it would be helpful to diagnose.
