Brief Answer:
Crying in this age is normal in most babies

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I have gone through the details and do understand your concern.
Sleep cycle is not regular in most of the babies.Few parents complain that baby sleeps more while few says baby is sleeping less.
Sleep cycle gets normal by 4-6 months of age.
I won't get overly worried if otherwise baby is active, feeding well, passing urine/stool and there is no abdominal distension or breathing problem.
Usually babies sleep more during daytime while they remain awake during night.
Parent should take care of nappy change and frequent feeds during night time,as soiling of diaper or hunger may cause excessive crying.
Colic is an another common reason of excessive crying.
Mixed feed/bottle feed can cause colic,so try to give exclusive breastfeeding.
Giving colic medication and probiotics help in decreasing colic.
Pedicloryl is a sedative and although it us safe better it should be avoided.
If crying is persistent I request you to consult a pediatrician for clinical examination. This will also help in decreasing your anxiety.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any query.

Brief Answer:
Go for thyroid screening,Don't worry for crying

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up

I have read the query thoroughly and answering one by one.
Thyroid screening should be done in all babies irrespective of mother's thyroid status as it is the most common treatable cause of mental retardation and treatment can be started at early stage.
By abdominal distension (sorry for using medical term) fullness/tense stomach.Sometimes excessive crying leads of swallowing of excess air and that causes fullness of stomach and further discomfort/crying.Burping and anti colic medication like colicaid helps here.
Breathing problem during crying is normal in every one but if you notice any increase in breathing rate or chest wall retraction while the baby is in rest that suggests some chest problem and this is also a cause of discomfirt/crying.
Again I won't get worried as the pediatrician has examined clinically and nothing abnormal has been detected.
Colicaid drops can be given 10 drops three times a day in this age.
I have seen the images and out of all the medication I would suggest you to give only Colicaid drops when required, nasal saline drop (it is very safe and can be given before feed or during bed time),and ultrad3 (vitamin d drops) as per recommendation.
One should always try to avoid bottle feed and even if needed it should be given after breastfeeding so that baby can take mothers feed comfortably.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply sir. sir for thyroid testing. one should take baby any particular time ..or any time ..and i askrd frw more doctos and my sister also a doctor said ..thyroid testing at this age is of no use she says. coz any throrid related problem will not be seen now it seems. .how much is this true ..and Since u said not to feed by bottle ..then i guess baby is not gettiyng sufficient breast milk...so she is crying ..and in our family ..my mother is saying that they will give cows milk..how safe is that and is it good to give ...my wife collects breast milk in bottle. ..it comes good ..i mean in quantity. but since she is crying and we had shown to doctors as well...it concludes that she is not getting enough milk through breast ...So sir please suggest should we start giving cows milk ..And Sir usually by what month one should starts cows milk and bottle feeding ( we had already started giving from second month ) ...

Brief Answer:
Thyroid test can be done,Cow milk after one year of age

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again

Thyroid test can be done at this age.Thyroid screening should be done in all newborn babies as this is most common cause of treatable cause of mental retardation.Symptoms may appear after 3-4 months of age while deficiency can be detected much earlier by blood test.If treatment started the outcome is very good. Most of the doctors get this thyroid screening done at the time of birth(through umbilical cord blood)or after one week of birth.
There are some disadvantages of bottle feed and that is the reason it should be avoided.Bottle feed can cause nipple confusion and baby may bite the nipple of the mother. There are increased chances of air swallowing during feed that may cause abdominal distension and discomfort.Infection is another disadvantage.
With proper care bottle feed can be given.
I agree with you that most of the elder family member suggest to give cow milk. But there are research studies which have shown that babies who have been given cow milk and egg white before the age of one year have high propensity to develop allergic disorder later on(as cow milk contains a protein which can cause allergy).
It is common feeling of mothers that breast milk is not sufficient. If baby is passing urine 4-6 times a day and weight gain is proper it indicates that the milk production is adequate.
