Posted on Thu, 23 Apr 2015
Question: I had my period it was normal and lasted 5 days. Then 4 days later I had a littlr brown discharge like a spotting. It was only the one day and then the next 3 a little when I wiped. My paps have always been normal and no hpv. I went to the doctor and there was a little blood in my urine like a uti. I'm just nervous because I never spot in between periods. I'm 45 and in good health.

Brief Answer:
Such changes are common in the perimenopausal age

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

At 45 years, you are approaching the peri menopausal age and such changes are not unlikely at this age. It is probably not a cause of concern. It is probably related to the hormonal levels that are associated with the process.

If you feel that the urine is blood stained, it might be preferrable to get a urine microscopy and culture done to rule out urinary tract infection.
