Question: hey doc I'm a fit 53 yr old man I have blood in urine I feel great and exetcise regularly.play rugby as well.What may be cause?

1) Is the blood in urine (Hematuria) associated with pain in abdomen ?
2) Do you have any urinary symptoms like burning ,frequency etc ?

Blood in urine in a healthy man of 53 years age can be due to one of the following factors
1) Infection
2) Kidney stone disease
3) Mass (Tumor) in kidney or Bladder .
4) Enlarged Prostate

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Contrast C.T Scan of abdomen (Kidney ,Ureter and Bladder)
5) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

no pain at ate red cabbage last nite I take lisinopril and doubled doses by mistake today took a good bit in rugby practice tuesday
