What Does A Circular Rash On Torso Of A Child Indicate?

Question: My son has a dime sized circle rash that is raised on his torso. there are two other spots that are smaller about pinky nail size coming up as well in different areas

Based on the image, it appears to be a fungal rash. This can spread by contact with the area.

Fungal rashes are easily acquired, all that is required is contact with a contaminated surface or a similar rash on another person.

Treatment involves the use of a topical anti fungal cream. There are different topical anti fungals eg canesten, miconazole, nizoral, econazole

One of these maybe available over the counter at your local pharmacy. If not, then you would need a prescription from your doctor.

In some cases it can take up to 2 weeks for complete improvement because fungal rashes are slow to respond to medication.
