What Does A Bump On Penis Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Jun 2014
Question: Hello,

A few weeks ago I noticed an invisible bump(about pea sized, maybe smaller) located on the right side of my penis almost what seems to be against my pelvic bone or attached to my penis where it anchors to my pelvic bone where you can't see it. It's hard, painless even when I push on it, and while it seems to be attached to something it's still somewhat moveable. Sometimes it seems like I can feel one or 2 much smaller bumps near it. I was hoping it'd go away on it's own but I've been freaking out worrying and it hasn't gone away. This site has been very helpful to me in the past so I greatly appreciate any help or advice! Thank you!

Brief Answer:
These are lymph glands.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this lump and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you.

From the information you have provided, these are superficial lymph nodes. The sizes make it typical that they are normal. They can be easily felt in persons who are tall and slim. In most instances, they are not suggestive of a pathology or an ongoing pathological process.

Feel relaxed. I will not be surprised if you were to report even more similar lumps as lymph nodes are like a bunch of grape fruits. This means more than 1 can often be felt if carefully examined.

Feeling nodes is no problem. What makes it a problem is the size and other characteristics. From the information you have provided, there is no need to get worried about this just now.

I hope this addresses your query fully. I hope this heps and I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you so much for your help I feel much better now! I thought they may be lymph nodes however online I couldn't find the "normal" location of where the lymph nodes would be. Thank you again!

Thank you again! One more quick question. This is unrelated however I do worry about STD's often (health class will do that) and I recently noticed a small tiny actually red pimple type bump on my thigh. It seemed like it may have been slightly yellow at the tip or my imagination. When I popped it there was a white fluid/core that came out. Now it's just a flat red spot. Is this jus a pimple or should I be worried? Thank you!

How many bumps? First time having such?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this opportunity to address more concerns with you.

I will like to know how many bumps you noticed and whether you have ever experienced this before. Also, was it painful? This will help me to know whether it could be STD related or not.

Let me hear from you. Would be right here all ready to respond as soon as the information gets to me.

I wish you well.

Just one. No pain at all, wouldn't of even noticed it was there if I wasn't looking! I've had red bumps on my thighs before that scared the hell out of me but after sending in photos and such I was told it was folliculitus and told the proper treatment and it did go away. I just wanted to confirm I guess. After it has been popped it's just a tiny flat red spot with what looks like a white circle around it. The past instance involved similar bumps but that spread and that's what I sent photos of and was told it was folliculitus. Luckily that did go away and this is jus one tiny spot! Also the past instance didn't cause any pain at all either.

Brief Answer:
Thanks for the follow up!

Detailed Answer:
From the information you have provided, this seems to be a limited superficial infection of the skin. With the past medical history and the description of this bump, folliculitis is very likely.

Folliculitis require no specific treatment except it becomes extensive. Cleansing, keeping it dry and free of moisture are the main principles of management. Body hygiene is also capital to prevent recurrences.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for clarifications and more information if need be.
