Posted on Wed, 18 Feb 2015
Question: I noticed a bump in my armpit 2 days ago... It was a little painful so I thought it was an ingrown hair. Today the bump is larger, but not painful, thoughts?
Well, maybe a little painful if I press on it.

3)When is your next expected menses?
4)Is this associated with soreness/tenderness of the breast on the same side?

Brief Answer:
Need not worry much.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for the information.

The lump probably indicates a lymph node enlargement.
If not painful and there is no lesions in the drainage area, we need not worry much.
Let me know if you have any similar swellings in the other armpit, neck, or inguinal area or other features like recent weight loss, lassitude, poor appetite etc.
Also, carefully look for any lumps in the same sided breast also.

If no such features, all that needed is to just keep a watch on its size and consistency. If not resolving in 1-2 weeks or enlarging further, we will need further evaluation.

Anyhow, while visiting your doctor after 2 weeks, do not forget to mention the same.
Also, it will be fine if you can see a gynecologist for evaluation of amenorrhea.

hope I have answered your query.
If you need further clarification, I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
