What Does 10mm Thickness Of Endometrial Wall Indicate?
What is the likelihood of endometrial cancer and what are my chances of ever becoming pregnant? I've gained a lot of weight in the last 2 years. Is there any remarkable difference if I undergo bariatric surgery?
Please give things to me straight as I have already prepared for cancer, infertility, etc. as I have been given a number of pseudo diagnoses. I just want a real answer. Please no sugar coating. Thanks!
Weight loss is important
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) There is no possibility of endometrial cancer as endometrial thickness of 10 mm does not suggest cancer. It is normal endometrial thickness.
2) It would help if you mention your height, weight and BMI. If you are obese ( as in many patients with PCOS), the bariatric surgery will help you to reduce weight. Obesity is one of main reasons for infertility and weight loss helps to reduce conceive.
3) I have put my honest opinions here. I think weight loss will help you. Meanwhile get an endometrial biopsy done to rule out cancer possibility altogether.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya
