Brief Answer:
Need medicines for lipids and vitamin D

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Your liver function tests including bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, proteins and HBsAg are normal.

The abnormal values are for lipid profile and vitamin D.

For lipid profile, you need to reduce fatty food intake and exercise regularly. Normally we first advise these lifestyle changes for atleast 3 months before starting medicines. But your triglycerides are really raised. So I would suggest that you consult a cardiologist and take lipid lowering agents like statins accordingly.

For low vitamin D, you need vitamin D supplements like calcirol granules once a week.

Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot Doctor.

In liver function test report SGPT ALT level is 74, while the acceptable range is <50. Is this fine?

Brief Answer:
Isolated ALT can be ignored

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back

Isolated elevation of ALT is usually discovered incidentally in otherwise normal individuals and is not of much clinical relevance. If you do not have any symptoms then it can be ignored. Just take precautions like avoid drugs that can affect liver including paracetamol, alcohol, pain-killers, statins, etc. Take hygienic food and cleaner drinking water. Recheck the liver function tests in 6 months.

Now lipid lowering drugs can affect the liver. Thus I would suggest that you see a cardiologist. Alternately you can try just diet and exercise for 3 months and recheck lipid profile.
