Brief Answer:
Positive fat pad sign indicating fracture

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

In this Xray the fracture cannot be seen because it is an incomplete fracture but there is a positive fat pad sign or dark shadow behind the end of the arm bone, which indicates that there is a fracture of the supracondylar region of the humerus bone.

This needs 4 to 6 weeks of immobilisation with cast, after which physiotherapy and range of movement exercises can be started.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Needs only 6 weeks splint. No need for surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Once the oedema or swelling subsides, the doctors would be able to get out to 90 degrees or more.

No need for surgery. Needs 6 weeks immobilisation in a plaster of Paris slab or splint. Nothing to worry .
