Brief Answer:
Vales are not proportionate to the disease activity

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

The values of these tests have not much role in assessing the severity or reliability of the test. Whether it is negative (less than the control) or positive (more than the control) has the importance. The values could be changed due the Level of immunoglobulin in the body at the time of examination which could be variable time to time due to dietary proteins and body reaction to various other infections and foreign proteins. So you need not worry about the raise in titre of IgG level in these test as long as it was less than the reference value.

Brief Answer:
Negative HSV Ig G antibody test 6 months after will rule out HSV infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
HSV Ig G antibodies appear later in the course of any infection than IgM antibodies. Presence of IgM antibodies indicate recent infection whereas positive test for Ig G antibodies indicates either past infection or an infection later than 6 months. So Ig G antibody test can be better be repeated after 6 months after the exposure or you can have a Ig M antibody test to rule out a recent infection. A negative Ig G antibody test after 6 months of risky contact can rule out the possibility of HSV infection.
