What Do Pus Filled Bumps On The Forehead Of A Child Indicate?

Question: Hi,
My Son is 3 yrs old. He is having small red / white bumps (Having Pus) in his forehead, Nose from last 3-4 days. PLease suggest some solution for the same.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
He seems to have a bacterial skin infection, namely folliculitis. You may use a topical antibiotic e.g 2%mupirocin cream (T Bact cream) for folliculitis. Apply twice daily.
However I request you to kindly upload a few images so that I can confirm the diagnosis. You may upload images in "Reports section".

Yes, it is bacterial skin infection i.e furuncle rather than folliculitis. It must be painful for him.
In addition to topical T Bact cream, as suggested previously, I also suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic e.g Syp Augmentin Duo (228.5mg/5ml), 5ml, twice daily for 5 days.
