Question: Hi Doctor,
Iam getting irregular periods for few months and also trying to conceive for about 1 year.My age is 28 and took a thyroid test on doctors advice.I got the following results T3 free-2.76 pg/ml, T4 free-1.25 ng/dl, TSH- 9.92 UIU/ml
It seems i have problem with my TSH value and iam taking medicine for a week.i like you to clarify me the below things
Whether its right to have baby within this period?whats the chance for me to get pregnant? and if so whether it will affect the new born?

Thanks for your reply

Brief Answer:
Wait for 1-2 months.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

A raised TSH value suggests low thyroid hormone levels. With low levels of thyroid hormone the chances of conception are less. Now that you have started with proper medicine let the hormone levels come back to normal in next 1-2 months and then try for conception. Thyroid hormone is necessary for normal development of baby.
