What Do Blisters In Vagina Indicate?

Posted on Fri, 28 Nov 2014
Question: Hi Dr. I am 28 year female. 2 months before I had blisters all over my vagina. It all started with a small blister with itching which I scratched n then it spread. I was very agonising and painful. My whole V was swollen I could not even walk. I consulted docs. Had treated with injections like supacef for 3 days twice a day.And antibiotic like acyclovir, emanzen, zenflox. Although all were high dose. it took me almost 10 12 days to heal. Ointments prescribed were Drez v, xyloclain gel. These blisters eventually opened and vanished. No foul smell. Only very light yellowish dischrge. small quantity.

Now I noticed few very small blisters again which had no pain/no itching all good. But I fear a lot to imagine if the earlier kind of condition is coming back. I am still using the drez v. As a precaution I am starting dose of zenflox. I have tested -ve on HIV and VDRL. M married and my husband too is healthy and clean and I am certain I cant get any such infection from him. I dont think its herpes. Can you please suggest?do u think I am getting the infection back ?

Brief Answer:
UPLOAD PICS, NEED FEW MORE DETAILS

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting me with your health concern.
If the blisters are coming back, yes, the infection might be recurring, that is a possibility.
Before offering any kind of opinion, I think you can understand that I would prefer to look at the lesions.
Please try and take very clear and multiple photographs of the blisters from various angles, and please upload the photographs.
It is essential for me to have a look and then form a diagnosis.
Also, please tell me a few more things -
1. Has your husband ever had such an outbreak ?
2. How do you think / know that it is not herpes ?
3. Where do you reside ?
4. Have you had prior sexual partners ?
5. Have you ever had such outbreaks , or just 2 so far ?
6. Have you been pregnant ever ?
7. Have you been tested for herpes ?
Please write back with these details, and with the pictures uploaded.
I would then revert.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further

Hi Dr thanks for reply. Actually there are very very tiny blisters which I feel when I touch my vagina. This is not an outbreak like before. I just suspect I may b on verge of it. There are no lesions too. No itching no pain no odd discharge. I used some dettol to clean the area this morning and felt bit of irritation, (like before) and thats why suspect it. My husband saw it n says its almost like nothing on it.

1. Has your husband ever had such an outbreak ? -Never
2. How do you think / know that it is not herpes ?-Since herpes comes if I or my husband have more than one partner.I know we dont have.
3. Where do you reside ?-New XXXXXXX
4. Have you had prior sexual partners ?-No
5. Have you ever had such outbreaks , or just 2 so far ?-Never,only 1
6. Have you been pregnant ever ?-No
7. Have you been tested for herpes ? No
