What Causes Weight Gain After Taking Famaotidine?
Question: it seems that since I have been taking this medication that I have a gain weight problem, there is a lot of swelling of the stomach area , as if I was preg, it has that form and is so sweled

yes there was testing done and my health problem is silent reflux

Famotidine is from group H2 receptor antagonists. This medicine hardly ever causes side effects. The side effects mostly include diarhea, dizziness,muscle pains, alopecia, transient rashes, confusion. It does not cause weight gain. In fact it has been tried in a trial for weight loss.
It is possible that due to low acid because of this medicine, the food is not getting digested and is causing bloating.
Acidity and reflux may cause some complications which may be responsible for swelling abdomen. An ultrasound of the abdomen should be done to find the cause if there are other symptoms present like pain in abdomen, etc.
