Brief Answer: Likely to be a prolapse Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. I would like to know if you have noticed this swelling for the first time today all of a sudden having never even felt it before and if you have any associated symptoms like incontinence of urine, constipation, excessive discharge and offensive smell. If you happen to have felt some discomfort for sometime now with/without associated symptoms, it is more likely to be a prolapse of the uterus with/without the vaginal walls, considering your age and the job you do. Prolapse is a common finding at this age and please do not worry, you are going to be well. I would ask you to see a specialist immediately for a proper evaluation and further management. If it happens to be a simple prolapse, conservative measures would usually help; if there is associated involvement of the vaginal walls, repair may be necessary. Please stop working until you get further help from your doctor; prolonged standing is to be strictly avoided in such a situation. Take good rest in bed with elevated foot end. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help. regards, Shanti.V.
