What Causes Vaginal Itching After Treatment For Cod And Flu?

Question: I had the flu and have consumed alot of cold medicines,my friend also gave me 4 antibiotics,since than the flu is gone.Now I am having extreme itching in the vaginal area ,so I went and got me some monistat 7 for a yeast infection and the problem is still there.I cant figure out why?

Vaginal itching is classical of vaginal candidiasis secondary to use of antibiotics and low immunity state. However MONISTAT7 is a less dose antifungal which is available off the counter to be used on day 1, 3 and 7 . If you have used it in this manner then you should have achieved some relief. IF however the schedule is not followed then it would not be effective.

i suggest you visit your physical for a per speculum examination and a vaginal smear for culture to rule out mixed vaginosis which would require combined antibotics and antifungals in form pf vaginal pessary which are more effective as compared to orals.
