What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?

Question: im 8 weeks pregnant with some spotting/light bleeding. the blood is sometimes reddish brown to brown colour. the blood comes out when i pee and when i defacate. my ob prescribed me to take duphaston until i reach 3months because she said it looks like I'm having a miscarriage. after weeks of duphaston, my spotting still come and go, is that normal? do you think there is still a chance of miscarriage even if I'm supported with duphaston? i have no hx of miscarriage and had my first baby with no complications in 2012. i had TVS ultrasound yesterday and the obgyne said the fetes looks fine with a heartbeat of 170beats/min. i also had discharge so i had finished 7 days neo-penotran vaginal suppositories for treatment. and cefalexin for my UTI.
