What Causes Tiredness During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Dec 2016
Question: I'm 38 week pregnant with Amniotic fluid level 9.9. my doc has suggested Astymin m forte and Agripreg (contains L-arginine and Proanthrocyanidin).

1. I became less active after taking these and feeling very weak baby movements which was very strong before taking these medicines. I'm also feeling weakness and lethargy.
2. In 38th week scan we found a mention of placental calcification in report which was not there 1 month before.
3. Also mydoctor is asking to get admitted 4 days before Estimated delivery date. This is my first baby and i have heard that at least we should wait 1 week after Estimated date for normal delivery. Though she said everything is fine in last scan report.

Can anyone help me with these concerns.

Brief Answer:
Hi

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

1) Tiredness is a common symptom in late pregnancy.. But if the baby movements are not much you need to consult your doctor.. If you get 3 movements in 1 hr after food it considered normal so a total of 10 movements should be appreciated per day.. If movements is less than this, a doppler need to be done to assess the blood flow..

2) Placental calcification is an indicator of placental maturity.. So it just means the placenta has become mature.. So nothing to worry..

3) In modern obstretic practice, we dont usually allow to go beyond date.. On the expected date or 1 to 2 days prior if spontaneous labour doesnot occur labour can be induced.. so dont worry..

Hope I have answered your query..
Feel free to ask any doubts..

Thanks!
1. Is my Amniotic fluid level of 9.9 is a little lower than what is expected at 38+ week? Just wondering why I am prescribed L-arginine now.
2. I want to have a normal delivery. The reason why I'm worried about 3-4 days of early admission is that, it will reduce my chances of getting natural labour pain. I will be induced artificial pain and if that doesn't work I'll be put to cesarean delivery. Just wondering what would be the possible reasons to get me to labour room early when I can wait for normal delivery. My baby weight was 2.7 kg on 38 week scan. I can attach the scan report if needed.

Hi.
Thanks for writing..
Amniotic fluid of 9. 9 is towards lower limit but not so low.. L arginine will prevent furthur reduction and does no harm..

You can ask your doctor to wait till date prior to induction and induce only one day after your date if pain didn't start.. Admission 2 days prior can be for work up and for vaginal examination with stripping which stimulates natural onset of pain..

Pls upload your report.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day...
