Question: Hi, I am 38 and female. My hands keep tingling and going numb. I'm even having trouble typing this. I twitch alot when i try to sleep. I get lots of pain in my legs. I have trouble going very long without eating or having some form of sugar. I get confused easy. I have trouble with my memory. I have been given Nitrolingual for angina. And am very sensitive to foods and chemicals. I am vegetarian and am having trouble finding things to eat that don't make me feel sick. I have eodema in my legs. I experience massive amounts of pain when I walk especially if i try to walk fast. I have had issues with my thyroid for at least 10 years. I blackout quite alot especially in the company of humans thus I dont visit people including doctors very often if at all. Can you suggest anything?

Brief Answer:
Compled

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry to learn how you are feeling. You have multiple symptoms that potentially arise from more than one medical condition. Therefore it is unlikely one doctor will be able to give you answers for everything you are experiencing. I would like to address any potential endocrine or hormonal causes. Would you know your most recent thyroid blood test result? Specifically I am looking for TSH. Further a general idea of your CBC and CMP would be helpful to start with

I have not had my TSH tested for quite a few years. I have been using a natural remedy as the regular medicine made me too sensitive to the sun. I had a vitamin D deficiency so stopped taking thyroxine and got more sun. My bones seem to be quite soft. They seem to compress when I injure myself so I am worried about osteoporosis. I am also concerned about diabetes. I do not know what a CBC is or a CMP.

Detailed Answer:
I meant to say "Complex' and not 'compled' in the title of the first reply.

CBC is a complete blood count or haemogram

CMP is complete metabolic panel that includes electrolytes, kidney function tests, liver function tests amongst other things.

I would suggest getting the TSH checked too.

Sometimes sunlight alone is not enough to raise the body's vitamin D levels. Sun exposure can instead cause problems like skin cancers. It is often better to take supplements.

You may wish to check your serum 25 hydroxy vitamin D levels to see if sunlight exposure has brought your blood levels in the normal range.

To check for diabetes, a blood test for HbA1c is a good start.
