Chest Pain. Treadmill Test Normal. Taking Isosorbide And Ramapril. Had Heart Attacks. Help

Hi, I keep getting waves of pain in my chest which are relieved by a nitrolingual spray but a recent treadmill test showed no problem with my heart. I take Isosorbide mononitrate 50 mg daily and ramapril 5mg as well as the nitrolingual spray when needed. I am 68 years old. I have seen my GP on three occasions and he got me a consultation with a cardiologist which is on going, and he says If the cardiac tests don't show anything up he will try an endoscopy but i feel I can't be sitting around waiting as the pains are getting more intense and more frequent. Had an attack at 4.20 am and again at 5.30am this morning, both relieved with the spray and I can feel another milder one which may subside as I write. The attacks occur in the morning after, usually a few minutes after getting up. Please can you help.
Sincerely,
Nigel Aldworth

Hello,
You are 68 years old and if your Treadmill test shows result as negative and if you are able complete it, I think the pain you have may not be cardiac. No harm in continuing the drugs, except the drugs may produce mild headache.
As treadmill test is normal ECG should also be normal. You can Take an Echocardigram. Anyhow consult your cardiologist about continuing the drugs.
For a differential diagnosis endoscopy is advised. Better to do it.
Finally diagnose the exact problem and get treatment.
Best wishes
