Brief Answer:
Strained muscle and/or joint.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history in details and understood your concerns.
Since you are on holiday and are doing lots of exercises which make the actions of the pectoralis muscles pronounced, it is possibly the swelling cause by the sling of this muscle on the right side and/or the swelling originating from the sterno-clavicular joint (if you are talking about the wish bone) or of the sterno-costal junction on the right side.
You may please take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you and stop the activity that strains the painful area and you will be fine.
Hiatal hernia would never present like this, so no worry about it, please.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Thank you very much for your comments ... I am encouraged to know that a hiatal hernia would "not present" in the way i have described. I shall take your advice and go easy on any exercise that might exaserbate my symptoms - and would like to get back to you in a few days if i still have concerns. meanwhile i am most grateful to you for your answer!

Brief Answer:
Rest to the area.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your appreciation.
Yes please, go easy on those exercises and activities that would strain the area. Better to avoid such movements at all as rest is a part of the treatment.
Surely, will be waiting for your feedback.
Have great holidays.
