What Causes Swelling And Pain In Eyelid?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Nov 2015
Question: I had a swollen/puffy/painful eyelid 2 months ago. My Dr put me on steroid drops. I have done them for 2x/10 days each for 1x/mth. The puffiness & swelling is gone. My eye looks normal again. However, I still have eye
pain daily. It is not only my eye, but now above and below my eye area is painful. As if you drew a line from my forehead, thru the middle of my eye, down to the middle of my cheek below my eye.
I don't know whether to go back to my internist, see a neurologist, see an opthamologist, or what type of Dr to
see me for this pain. It's not a sharp pain, but dull, constant pain. Thank you for your help.

Brief Answer:
consult internist

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
Since an eye Doctor has already seen you and the inetial problem is over it is not a bad idea to cosult an interist who can guide you if necessary to any other specialist.
There has to be some issue why are you having this trouble, this is to be examined and investigated properly to come to a conclusion .
An ENT doctor could also be useful to rule out sinusitis but an internis should refer you there if necessary.
Do get back to us in case of any further query in this regard.
