Brief Answer:
Most common possible causes or strong smell in the urine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

-- Most common cause of the smell in the urine can be urinary tract infection.

-- It is good that you are drinking more water. Once confirmed that you do not have any infection, with drinking more water you will rule out the other cause of the smell in the urine which is dehydration.

-- Diabetes can give smell in the urine as well but as I see you don't have it.

-- Also you need to consider ruling out any gynecological infections. Like bacterial vaginosis will give a fishy smell, together with trichomonas.

Hope this is helpful and answers your question.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
