Brief Answer:
Please Rule out other causes of Pain

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Welcome to HealthCareMagic.com I am Dr.J XXXXXXX Anto Bruno Mascarenhas. I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help you.

It is quite rare (though it is possible) for Post Herpetic Neuralgia (Pain due to Shingles) to persist for five months.

This pain can be
1. Due to Shingles
2. Due to other conditions

What to do : Please consult a Surgical Gastroenterologist, who will do a Clinical Examination, Abdominal Examination etc to rule out other conditions

Once other conditions are ruled out, we can treat this pain with proper drugs like Pregabalin, Gabapentin etc

Hope you found the answer helpful.

If you need any clarification / have doubts / have additional questions / have follow up questions, then please do not hesitate in asking again. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Best Wishes for Speedy Recovery
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
