What Causes Stomach Cramps And Diarrhea Post Antibiotic Treatment?
Question: I have recently had bronchitis and have take 2 10 day rounds of doxycycline took finished the antibiotics about 2 weeks ago and today have had stomach cramps and diarrhea 3-4 bowel movements today and noticed pea shaped 'things' in my stool as gross as it sounds I did pick one up and squeezed it and when it burst thick yellow pus came out I have had c-diff before
after a hysterectomy and 2 courses of antibiotics
oh and no blood in my stool I don't notice any mucous it is a yellowish brown color and it does have a foul odor I don't have a fever have some stomach 'rumbling'
I also took 2 step down courses of steroids when I had bronchitis - took it with the antibiotics

My Impression-
You seem to be suffering from C.diff diarrhea, resulting from disturbed intestinal flora, post-bronchitis lead heavy antibiotic loads. Steroids combined with antibiotics during antibiotics lead to this diarrhea attack which you have currently.
Do's Suggested-
Consult Physician and assess the condition along with stools tests.
Plenty of fluids.
Bland Diet with porridge would sustain the nutrition to its minimum needs.
Banana Shakes-x 2 times day - to recoup from diarrhea fast.
Tab Imodium-2 times a day x 5 days
Tab Flagyl x 400 mg x 3 times a day x 5 days
If no relief Cap Vancomycin / and or- Fidaxomicin if need be to be used carefully.
Sporolac Cap- 1 x 2 times a day x 10 days.
Vit B12 Subligual with Folic acid to recoup intestinal stability fast.
All to be executed under expert care of your family doctor.
