I have attached a photo, slightly itchy, slightly sore, small areas of puss that scales over, not fluid also not deep, but started out as lump deep down. I am not diabetic, not very swollen just slight raised. Its tender and feels warm changing every day have attached a photo from a few days ago where color is deep and photo from this morning with less deepness. But appears very deep purple from a distance.

Brief Answer:
need antibiotic treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for the information given.

From the description it seems like a soft tissue infection ,and need immediate institution of oral antibiotic to control infection. As the infection is deep,we cannot control this with antibiotics creams alone. The surrounding redness and warmth suggest deep and spreading nature of the infection.
Depending on the finding on local examination, this may also need a minor incision and drainage under local anesthesia.
For such cases, after draining any pus collection, I usually give antibiotics like amoxicillin+cloxacillin/clavulonate along with antiinflammatories. So kindly see your doctor for evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Meanwhile keep the area clean and dry. Continue applying antibiotic cream.

Hope I have answered your query.

What causes this?

Brief Answer:
bacterial infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
This is caused by bacterial infection. Usually starts around a hair follicle(folliculitis), and spreads to surrounding area if treatment is delayed. Initially, duct of sweat glands associated with hair follicle gets blocked by debris that result in accumulation of secretions and secondary bacterial infection. This is a very common and easily treatable condition and need not be worried much.

Hope you got it cleared.
Take care.
Thank you.
