What Causes Slight Tear On My Natal Cleft Above My Anus?

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Apr 2014
Question: I have a slight tear on my natal cleft above my anus. I had a pilidonal cyst 4 months ago after injury to my tailbone. I have had no symptoms of the cyst since and has healed pretty well. However I get this tear every so often. What might be the reason. I am using neosporin and Desitin to treat is this right? The tear was wider but this is day 4 no blood or extreme pain just slight sting when touched or water enters.

Brief Answer: Neosporin / bacitracin. keep are dry and clean Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for using HCM. I went through the query and attached photo and understood your concern. Just apply neosporin/ bacitracin powder on it - twice a day for 7-10 days, and it should heal. If it doesn't then you might have cutaneous candidiasis (fungal infection: May or may not have typical symptoms) and should apply topical antifungal powder /cream / ointment for 7 days. Along with the above said ointment you should keed the area always dry and clean. Dry completely after bath and dry by pressing cotton towel over it, don't rub. If overweight reducing weight will also help. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health and faster recovery. Regards

Ok thank you for your response. I will continue using the Neospotin and zinc oxide cream to keep it dry. It's healing so I hope it is not a fungal infection. However I do have some Ketoconzale cream left from a previous prescription. Would you advise me to use it anyways after the week of neosporin or should I just let my body be if the year heals on it's own.

Brief Answer: no need to start other ointment after its healing Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for writing back. Since the wound is healing, you need to continue the same drugs. No need to start another ointment or cream after its healing. The ointment use can be extended upto 7-10 days. Usually there will be only one cause for the pathology. But after healing keep the area dry to prevent any further problem. I hope this information helps you. Wish you and your family a very happy life and good health. Regards
