Brief Answer:
Narrowing of air passage

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
When you bend your neck down, the air passage in the neck gets slightly kinked. This is not an issue causing breathing difficulty in most people. However if your air passage is already comprised due to obesity or other reasons, the bending may tilt the balance and you may feel the obstruction to your easy breathing.

When I bend down I feel something in my stomach also. It used to happen when I would tie my shoes and I lost some weight which seem to help that. I am
5' 10 1/2" tall and I weigh 169 lbs. It seems to happen more when I touch my chin to my chest. Can this also be contributed to a blockage in my airway?

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Yes, when you bend your neck for the chin to touch the chest, it decreases the space for the passage of air and opens your esophagus.
