Question: I get a strange feeling in my chest. No pain. Feels like my heart could be racing. Was to the ER about a month ago with same symptoms but everything was normal. It has been happening a lot the past two days. I was walking for exercise and as I was walking down hill I could feel the sensation more. Also could be a little short of breath

Brief Answer:
Need further investigations

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

You need to be investigated for Coronary Artery Disease… especially because of the age and relation to effort.

A single normal ECG does not exclude… The next step is TMT – preferably with thallium isotope. It is the ideal non-invasive way to evaluate ischemia / to assess the PHYSIOLOGY (function) – to see whether the blood arriving at the heart muscle.
HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) is done to analyse and plan for further management of the racing heart, if a routine ECG does not show. It may also detect silent (no symptom) ischemia, which could be the cause.
ECHOcardiogram / LABORATORY work-up – may also be necessary for further assessment and assistance. Some may even need Electro Physiological Studies (EPS)

The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
