What Causes Severe Pain On Right Side Of The Face, Head And Neck?
Question: I am a 45 year old female. I am in good health but am experiencing sudden and severe pain on the right side of my face, head and neck. It feels like the pain of a tooth ache but all my teeth on the right side hurt. The pain includes my neck, jaw, sinus area and top of my head only on the right side with a ringing in my right ear. No recent trauma, slight fever. The past two days I have had a pain at the base of my tongue where it hits my throat on the right side and my gland on that side felt swollen. Also friend remarked I am constantly clearing my throat even though it doesn't feel tight and I have had no trouble swallowing.

I read through your query accordingly I must say that it can be mostly due to viral infection. Since it affects only a side of the face and neck too it can be due to virus Herpes zoster. Also ear pain and tonsilar pain is related to it.
I suggest you to meet a ent surgeon or a physician and get the various tests done and be on antiviral drugs. Usually it last for few weeks and with antiviral drugs(acyclovir) it gets resolved little faster.
Nothing to be tensed in this case. It is just a usual viral infection. Get the treatment done earliest as possible. Reduce oily foodstuff, have properly cooked food and meat, take lots and lots of fruits and have lots and lots of water. Besides all these stay cool and be happy. Happy mind and stressfree mind is best medicine for any disease.
