Question: I HAVE SOME PAIN IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY BACK AT THE END OF MY RIB CAGE THIS PAIN FEELS LIKE A SORENESS BUT ALSO GAVE ME PROBLEMS LIFTING MY LEFT LEG THIS MORNING WHILE GETTING DRESSED.
PAIN IS SO INTENSE AT TIMES THAT IT TAKES MY BREATH AND ALSO HURTS WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF BED OR OUT OF THE CAR. ALSO HURTS IF I SIT FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME AND CAN MAKE ME FEEL SICK. ALSO HAVE A BAD COUGH THAT CAUSES ME TO GAG AND THROW UP. HAVE NOTICED THAT AFTER THROWING UP MY STOMACH GETS QUEASY. MY COFFEE IN THE MORNINGS SEEMS TO MAKE ME FEEL SICK TO MY STOMACH ALSO. COUGH HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE OCTOBER. DO I NEED TO SEE MY FAMILY DOCTOR?

Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you are having spasm of your back muscles. This can be due to sudden weight lifting or sudden bending. Because of your cough these muscles are getting continuous strain.
I have following advised to you.
1. Get a chest x ray and if their is any infection, start antibiotics for it.
2. Stop smoking if you do.
3. Avoid travelling, sudden bending, weight lifting.
4.Hot water fomentation will help you.
5.You can take muscle relaxant like Myoril or Myospaz. Volitran ointment can also helpful.
