What Causes Severe Itching And Burning Sensation On Both Sides Of Abdomen?

default
Posted on Wed, 31 Dec 2014
Question: I am having episodes of severe itching and burning on both sides of my abdomen. No rash, no redness, etc. I have had a shingles shot so not thinking of that issue. It comes and goes, sometimes it actually hurts to touch. Put baby oil, lotion, and cortisone on it but it continues to come and go. Otherwise I am in very good health, take no medications other than vitamins or allergy pills. I am seventy years old. Possibly stress??? It is not like me to allow stress to overwhelm me so I would be surprised.

Brief Answer:
Stress unlikely to be the cause of the symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic. I can assure you that it is very unlikely to be caused due to stress and so you need not unnecessarily worry about that. Taking some antiallergic may help but to be on the safer side, you may get yourself examined by a dermatologist.
