What Causes Severe Fatigue, Abdominal Bloating And Diarrhea While On Pantoprazole?

Question: What are the most important tests to get done if your symptoms are -severe persistent fatigue, stomach bloating, burping, gas, pain in left lower back, diarrhea and constipation alternating, persisting over months in spite of some relief from Pantoprazole?

Thanks for the query

For the above mentioned symptoms I suggest the following tests

1. Complete blood count along with Vitd, vit b12 and folic acid
2. Endoscopy with rapid urease test
3. Ultra sound abdomen and pelvis
4. Stool for routine analysis

If all the above tests are normal then I suggest endoscopy

It could be irritable bowel syndrome but one has to rule out any organic pathology like gastric ulcer, h pylori infection and other diagnoses before labeling it as IBS. Let me know if you have weight loss or any other relevant symptoms.

Thank you for your thorough reply. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I have one cousin with severe Celiac (condition diagnosed subsequent to hospitalization for malnutrition) and my grandmother had Crohn's. Is it important to be tested for either?
