Brief Answer: VISIT THE HOSPITAL, THIS IS GASTRITIS. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Hope this is quick enough. What she is experiencing sounds like gastro enteritis. This is gastritis ( infection of the stomach ) with enteritis ( infection of the gut ). Typically it presents with vomiting and pain in the upper abdomen, maybe followed by diarrhoea. Just to be on the safer side, yes , please visit a hospital. SHe might need injectable anti emetics and antacids. Once the injections kick in, she can be switched over to oral medications. Intravenous Pantop - D will act fast. Then she can take oral antacids if the vomiting stops. During pregnancy, dehydration can be XXXXXXX for the baby, so best have an assessment whether she needs intravenous fluids also. Ask her to keep taking liquid orally. Avoid eating outside. STick to simple, bland, home made food like khichdi, daliya, broth , kanji, curd rice etc. Instead of 2 -3 big meals, ask her to take food every 2 - 3 hours as small snacks. Avoid sleeping at night for 2 hours after dinner. Take a glass of chilled milk at night. All the best Please feel free to discuss further.

Brief Answer: AS BELOW Detailed Answer: As I said, it can be XXXXXXX for the baby if she gets dehydrated. Hospital assessment of a pregnant lady involves assessment of the baby. The baby 's heartbeat and well being would have to be looked into once she reaches the hospital. Also, you said she had quite severe pain, so it is justified to have a visit and remain on the safer side.
