default
Posted on Wed, 16 Dec 2015
Question: I have right side abdominal pain middle . I bloated over there, pain and pressure. Some times it feels better if I lay on that side and it feels better if I walk or move around. It wakes me up at night and never completely goes away. It is very overwhelming because it never goes away. i have had a cat scan with negative results. I,ve had my gallbladder removed. When checked by a doctor they don't feel anything. i have been trying gas pills to see if that helps with no success. i have chronic pain and started on a bustrans patch. i have issues with constipation from time to time and take stool softeners. Recently had a stomach bug so have been having loose stools. I abdominal pain has been with me for a while and would let up but for over the past month I have gotten no relief. I had a colonoscopy last Feb and was ok. GI doctor told me there was nothing he could do. Family Docter has no answers. Help Please.

Brief Answer:
Gastroscopy should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Do you have recent liver tests (AST, ALT, GGTP, AP, bilirubin)?
Your symptoms can be caused by some bile duct issue (can be invisible in CT) or due to stomach and/or duodenum inflammation or ulcer.
With bile ducts issue (like a stone for example), you may get occasionally pale stool and dark urine. The pain can radiate to the right shoulder. Lack of appetite and bitter taste can be present as well.
Bile ducts pain is more sharp.

As you have gastroparesis, the possibility of ulcer in the stomach or even something more serious is higher. That is why, you should have it checked for sure. I suggest you to have gastroscopy done and mentioned above liver tests.
ERCP (endoscopic bile ducts checkup) should be also considered if no changes in the gastroscopy.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
