What Causes Red Marks All Over Body?

Question: Hi doctor, my baby is 2 months old. she is doing well but she is getting red marks all over the body and they become pimples the next day and will go off on the third day. What could be reason for this and suggest some precautions to take care of ?(not so many)

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

I hope and assume the baby is on exclusive breast feeding. Red marks all over the body could suggest possibility of allergy. The allergy could be due to:

1. Oil: particular oil or residual oil remaining over the body after bath. I hope you are not applying anything while giving giving bath

2. Cloth material

3. External feeds being given

4. Dust mites in pillow

The lesion would be getting infected causing pustules (Impetigo).

I would suggest the following

1. Daily bath
2. Remove oil residue by applying Himalaya baby bath and removing oil with warm water
3. Application of Himalaya baby lotion followed by gently during the body with Himalaya baby powder.

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply. Daily once we are feeding her with lactogen 1 milk powder.We are applying sandal oil in the evening and leaving it throughout the night.Is this could be the reason for the allergy?? During bath in the morning, we are using pure coconut oil for massage.

I have attached screenshot of the infected areas.

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Thanks for the photograph. Presence of residual oil is definitely the cause of red marks. Any extra oil over the body will cause such things. Apply oil only before giving bath.
I would suggest equal mixture of Coconut, Olive and Almond oil.
