What Causes Rashes Spreading Throughout Both Breasts After Using An EKG?

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Jul 2015
Question: After wearing an EKG for 30 days I developed a rash at each contact point that has spread into both breasts. Assume it is an allergic reaction if some sort. It did not clear up on its on. What is it likely to be and is it dangerous? Currently on second RX cream. Still an issue. Dangerous or just hard to clear up?

Brief answer
...don't worry as it shall be alright soon.

Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understand your concern.
You seem to have developed allergic contact dermatitis. In this condition skin comes into contact with a substance which your body perceives as foreign resulting into reaction by your immune system.
There is nothing to worry for this.
Usually this clears up with steroid ointments which you are already using.

In cases of severe reactions or troublesome itching, oral antihistamine preparations like Benadryl or FEXOFENADINE or even steroid pills can be used.
Just wait and watch as everything shall gradually be all right.
Keep taking the treatment as advised.
It is not at all dangerous and hence not to be worried about.

I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
