Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like ot explain that it is necessary to differentiate between a simple sinus tachycardia and other abnorma lcompex tachyarrhythmias (including supraventricular tachycardia in the settings of Wolf-Parkinson-Wihite).

For this purpose, I recommend in case of persistent palpitations to ask medical assistance to the nearest ER service in your living area in order to perform an ECG. This way, it will be possible to confirm the presence of cardiac arrhythmia.

If your racing heart feeling is not persistent, but recurrent instead, the most appropriate way to detect possible arrhythmias would be to perform an ambulatory 24 to 48 hours ECG monitoring (Holter).

Meanwhile a new review of your thyroid function status and blood electrolytes level would be necessary to exclude any underlying implicating effects.

You need to discuss with your attending doctor on the above mentioned issues.

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
