What Causes Random Itching With No Rashes?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Oct 2014
Question: Hi, I'm experiencing random itching with no rash although I notice a rash on my arm which after consulting my doctor and applying Antroquril it disappeared but can be irritable if I sweat. The itching seems more like small random bites which as soon as you touch it disappears. Sometimes I go for hours and not notice it. I'm in top shape otherwise thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these random itches that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and the treatment as well. These itches are very non specific and the medications(Zyrtec) should be able to address this and offer some relief of symptoms.

What is the cause of this? For now, there is no definite response and unless some more symptoms set in or the itch becomes more intense/worrisome that we may want to become aggressive and look beyond common causes. It would however be very unlikely that this is caused by one of the concerning disease conditions as the intensity is very mild and you have no other health concerns at this time.

Keep your personal hygiene up, avoid sweating and very humid environments. If you have started using any new products, please stop an observe if there would be any changes to your symptoms.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you for your prompt response. The itch can be a nuisance since it's very random and seems to go for ever. I consulted my local doctor about 2 weeks ago and the Zyrtec and cream seemed to take affect immediate. The for reasons unknown the itch or bity feeling returned after about a week noting that at times it just seems to disappear all together and it does not keep me awake at night appearing to disappear all together. It seems more prevalent in my hair line and around my feet noting that I have dry like skin and I've suffered from itchy hair practical all my life. I'm trying to drink more water since my Doctor detected dehydration. I guess I worry a lot thinking that stress may have some thing to do with my symptons. Noting I'm a recent cancer survivor (rectal and lung) and now I'm on a 6 monthly watch. Thanks for you help and I hope it disappears in due cause noting I do a lot of exercise and perspire a lot. I'm very fit given what I've been through. Again many thanks

Brief Answer:
Congrats on beating cancer!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up information.

Congratulations on beating cancer. I am so happy to know you have been doing great, staying positive and in great health even after going through this.

The fact that these symptoms almost disappear at night means your conscious state and psychological components play a lot into these symptoms. You would need to worry less about them as this would prove to be very helpful.

Keep the positive attitude going on. Exercise as much as you can and eat healthy. These would improve your over all health.

Keep me posted with your progress.

Thanks!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up.

Honestly, PBE is not a commonly used medical jargon or abbreviation and I am unable to relate to it at this time. May be you provide some more clues of what it consisted in so that I can understand it in context and decode it. In any case, this would be for my curiosity as the results were favorable and called for m=nor further medical attention.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and let me hear fro you on this: PBE.

Hello..sorry as I understand PBE's stands for full blood tests which I have as part as my full medical tests. Tests for cholesterol, Glucose, and Sugars etc. And based on my Doctors advice all were favourable results. Thank you and its interesting to note as I become more relaxed after your consultation the itch/bity sensation has subsided. Thank you
