What Causes Pulsating Pain In Chest Area Radiating Towards Left Arm?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 May 2014
Question: I am 43 year old female. I have recently had an ablation for palpitations. Since they have stooped but I'm now getting them in the centre of my chest. I'm getting a pulsating pain in the heart area goingup towards my left arm. In addition, I'm getting a helicopter wooshing when I move about. Nothing is showing up on the heart monitor but I'm definately still having the problems. I also get a strange anxious feeling in my stomach and a racing in my chest. The consultant is saying I'm cured and it could be anxiety but It happens at all different times, including when I'm busy at work or driving. My mum has heart failure at 76 & my father died aged 42 from a blood clot on his heart due to a heart condition. Im at a loss and my doctor said I'm a mystery to him but its affecting everyday duties. Thanks. XXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Possible peri/menopausal symptoms...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Given your medical reports, clinical symptoms and your age, and cardiac tests of no significance, I can assume that all your problems are due to peri/menopause hormonal changes.

I advise to:

- try to control stress/anxiety
- avoid coffee/energetic/carbonated drinks
- eat healthy
- avoid alcohol/smoking
- be more physically active

All the best!
