What Causes Persistent Stomach Cramps, Lethargy And Depression?

default
Posted on Wed, 24 Feb 2016
Question: My wife has been experiencing symptoms for the last 7-8 weeks diarrhea, stomach cramps, dehydration, skin rash, skin breakouts on her back, moodiness, lethargy, depression and delusions of a paranoid sort. We have been to several doctors, we have treated for parasites. She has a history of depression, anxiety, and bipolarity--which she is medicated for. We have had ct and mri scans done showed nothing but lung irritation from smoking.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be Irritable bowel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Appreciate your concern for your wife.
If her stools examination excluded an infection, it is likely that she has Irritable bowel syndrome which has a relationship to her emotional problem. A stool examination for occult blood may also be done if it has not been done.
Take care
