Question: I was playing golf today. Second hole, hit drive and heard pop in my left arm below the elbow. Rested some and then it went away. Last hole it returned and pain is consistent yet not too bad to go to doctor.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Rauf,

At present, the skin is not hot. It is not red. I did not have problems with swings close to body. When I extended arms to hit driver, then my right arm would hurt when contact with ball was made.

No fever present.

I am taking Advil and using ice.

No other symptoms to share.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Most probably localized inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. I would suggest you not to worry as this most probably is muscular spasm & localized inflammation due to blow. It will take few days to resolve. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following measures:

- ibuprofen thrice a day for 2 days.
- take hot water in a rubber bottle and place it at the site of trauma. it will give soothing effect.
- try to give rest to affected arm.
- do not life heavy weight.

Hopefully you will see improvement in 2-3 days BUT if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
