default
Posted on Fri, 4 Mar 2016
Question: Hi, ive been experiencing symptoms for about 4 weeks of tiredness, extremely bloated stomach, constant thirst to the point that i wake up in the morning feeling like I've not drank in a week. I also have been getting aching under my right armpit, not sure if that's related and I have a cough at the moment that I think is un related to the other symptoms. My diet hasn't changed in the past 6 months nor has my lifestyle. I'm quite active and have no medical history. I'm 22 and my bmi is 23

Brief Answer:
Take symptomatic over the counter treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Feeling boated in stomach and tiredness could be related to gastritis or gastroenteritis but it will require further evaluation by clinical examination and various tests to arrive at a certain diagnosis.

Cough and right armpit pain are unlikely related to your bloating so you may take symptomatic over the counter treatment for that.

If all these symptoms are not so troublesome, then i can suggest you some medications and dietary precautions to get relieved from this extreme bloating.

1) Take over the counter antacids tablets like Proton pump inhibitors (pantoprazole 40 or rabeprazole 20).

2) Take pain killer and antihistamine like cetrizine 10 mg twice daily for symptomatic relief.

3) Syrup digene 2 TSF three times a day.

4) Avoid hot, oily and spicy foods rather take bland diet for initial few days.

5) Avoid eating full stomach one at a time rather, take small and frequent meals.

6) Have soft diet only for next 3 to 5 days.

7) Take more salads (cucumber, cabbage, carrot, beat) in the meal, more take vegetables.

8) Quit alcohol or smoking if you do.

9) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices the day.

I expect you to get better within 3 to 5 days but if your problem persists then i will advice you to see physician or gastro physician who can order various tests (below mentioned) and can come to a particular diagnosis and start the treatment.

1) routine blood counts with ESR,random blood sugar
2) liver function tests (SGPT and ALP)
3) urine and stool examination for R/M and ova
4) ultrasound of abdomen

Hope this will help you to get better and if any query then feel free to ask me.

Regards,
