Before coming to the final diagnosis , I would like to know certain more details from you regarding the skin problem .
Which all sites of the body do you have this skin problem?
Since when do you have it?
Any associated itching pain or discomfort?
What all are you applying over it?
Are you presently taking any medicines?
The rash has more of lichenoid features but we can be sure only when provide me more information regarding the areas of body affected.

hi... this causes no pain or any discomfort at all. it is primarily on my calf & some, very little on my shin.
this does not itch, burn or anything like that. I just happen to notice it. I have not applied anything to it. if it is relevant I am obese, morbidly obese.

You seem to have developed amyloidosis of the skin called papular amyloidosis .
Now first of all, this condition is completely related to the skin and it is not associated with any internal problems.
You can apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone over the affected areas twice a day .
You should avoid itching or rubbing of the affected areas since this might increase the skin lesions.
You should keep the area moisturized by applying a good moisturizer twice a day atleast.
It is basically just a cosmetic problem and can be left of its own if it is not very bothersome .
