What Causes Painful Urination And White Penile Discharge?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: Hello Dr. about 4 weeks ago after unprotexted sex I was experiencing pain while urinating and a white discharge from my penis. I informed my Dr. of this and he said that this maybe chlamydia. he gave me a shoot and 2 pills to take. he also had me do a urine and blood test to check if I have any STDs. after about 12 days after finishing the medicine the same symptoms were still present and did not go away. the results of the urine and blood test show negative for everything including chlamydia but show that there's is some "protein" in the urine. My Dr. is sending me to a specialist do you know what this could be? could it be just a simple infection? and what kind of meds are used for something like this? thank you.

Brief Answer:
Need to confirm the precise nature of STI .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had unprotected sex 3 weeks back and since then facing problem of burning urination and urethral discharge which has not resolved even after taking Erithromycin for 10 days .

In view of unprotected sex and the symptoms that you have there is strong possibility of either Chlamydia or Gonorrhea has to be confirmed by certain lab tests.

Consult qualified Urologist or Sexual Disease Specialist for clinical assessment and get following basic test done to establish diagnosis .
1) Urine routine and Urine culture
2) Swab test and Culture of urethral discharge
3) Blood tests for STI(VDRL) and basic screening tests for HIV.

In the meanwhile start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till gets cured completely.

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
