What Causes Pain In Upper Left Abdomen?
Question: This started last night I am having pain in left side around to back about mid way up The pain comes on here an there very sharp almost like a spasm also when i breath in deep the pain is there I've never had this kind of pain just can't seem to figure it out My concern also is I just finished meds for a bacteria infection could this be related some how I'm a hair dresser an don't get sick much I really don't think i can work with this kind of pain

Pain in the left upper abdomen can be due to pancreatitis , ovarian cyst , pelvic inflammatory disease , peptic ulcer disease or stone in urinary tract - to name a few.
It is a bit difficult to comment without actually examining you.
I would suggest you to
- Avoid oily, spicy food
- Drink loads of water
- Get a blood hemogram , total leukocyte count, amylase, lipase , blood glucose and Liver function test done
- Get an abdominal ultrasound done - these will help in guiding towards the diagnosis
- I would start tablet Pantoprazole and tablet Drotaverine to relieve the pain.
Do not worry.
The antibiotics are probably not causing this pain.
Visit a clinician. He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.

also i forgot to also say the strangest thing to me was i also hve very bad dry mouth when it all started I drank 5 glasses of water right down could not get enough an still dry mouth an feeling fevered would this change your answer any on whats going on
