Brief Answer:
Acid reflux

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since you are on MS contin 60 mg which contains morphine suphate due to 2 failed lumbar surgeries the throat block feeling and pain in chest could be due to the side effect of morphine suphate as it causes chest pain or discomfort as its side effect.

Morphine causes acid reflux which is a condition in which some acid from the stomach leaks up into the esophagus.

I would advise you to take proton pump inhibitor group of drugs twice daily before food with your doctors advise.
